Welcome to Thomas Street's Media Center, the heartbeat of the school.
Activities such as Book Fairs, Reading Is Fundamental book giveaways, celebrating Children's Book Week, Read Across America, and National Library Week give our children opportunities to enjoy storytellers and performers from the Mississippi Arts Commission and to connect with community leaders through a shared love of literature.
Accelerated and S.T.A.R. Reading, S.T.A.R. Early Literacy, Accelerated Grammar/Spelling, and Accelerated and S.T.A.R. Math diagnose skill acquisition and comprehension and provide crucial information that helps teachers pinpoint areas for improvement and strengths on which to build critical thinking.
A state-of-the-art computer lab adjacent to the Media Center allows our children to explore, research, and learn by offering favorites such as Kidspiration, Orchard, WiggleWorks, and HyperStudio.
AlphaSmarts, mobile computer companions, are available for students to practice keyboarding, take tests, and write creative stories.
